Before the Storm - Falkirk Wheel PRE-ORDER

This A2 fine-art print was created from a photograph I took on the morning of the final of Landscape Artist of the Year 2026. Walking along this stretch of the canal, I was surrounded by the anticipation and memories of an extraordinary few weeks. Later, back in the studio, that photograph became the starting point for a much more expressive painting.

The original painting was made in oil on board, in section I mixed sand with the oil to create texture. Rather than simply reproducing the photograph, I wanted the painting to hold onto the feeling of that morning: the place itself, the memories attached to it, and the excitement of what was still to come.

This museum-quality A2 Giclée print is produced on beautiful fine-art paper and finished with deckled edges.

The deckled edge looks particularly beautiful float-mounted by a bespoke framer,  or it can be framed right to the edge in a standard pre-made A2 frame.
