About

After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2009, Libby Walker began a successful career as an illustrator, working with clients such as Jo Malone, Estée Lauder, Ibis Styles, Hilton, RSPB, Chivas Brothers, University of Glasgow and Loch Lomond National Park. Her portfolio of commercial projects established her as a highly accomplished creative voice.

Alongside commissions, Libby developed her own brand celebrating Scotland’s communities through illustration. Her work captures the spirit of local places , from shops and cafés to pubs and architectural gems - creating prints, homeware, and stationery. In 2018, she opened a shop in Glasgow’s Southside that quickly became a beloved destination for locals and visitors, showcasing her Scotland-inspired designs.

In recent years, Libby has expanded her practice into painting, drawing directly from the Scottish landscape. Inspired by plein air studies and memories of time spent in nature, her works move towards abstraction, focusing on atmosphere, colour, and the emotional connection to place. She is currently preparing a new collection of landscape paintings, developing from small studies into larger, expressive canvases that capture the experience of being immersed in the landscape.

Today, Libby’s practice moves between illustration and painting, with each discipline informing the other. Her illustrative works remain central to her business, continuing to celebrate Scotland’s communities, while her landscape paintings open a new chapter in her artistic journey.

Libby enjoys collaborating with other creatives and welcomes invitations to work together. You can read more about past projects and painting adventures on her blog.
