Hello! I'm Orla, a Scottish artist working across painting and illustration, exploring themes of curiosity, play, joy, awe, and looking to capture the small moments that connect us more deeply to the world around us.
My work is inspired by how places, objects, and moments feel — from coastlines, lochs and mountain tops to city streets, cafés, and time with friends. Rooted in the natural world and our connections with nature, I’m drawn to capture everyday adventures and beauty: the quiet, unremarkable moments that hold meaning, memory, or a sudden sense of wonder.
I use my sketchbooks, plein-air / on-location painting and studio practice as a way to notice more, to slow down, and to stay open to wherever inspiration appears.
Alongside my own work, I teach in person classes, and run The Outdoor Sketchbook
Collective — an online community that encourages others to connect with nature, place, and creativity through sketching, workshops, and gentle exploration.
