Tall Pines - Pollok Park PRE-ORDER

Tall Pines began as a small plein-air study painted in Pollok Park. I kept returning to this particular spot, again and again. Those repeated studies eventually developed into this larger, more expressive painting.

There is a real sense of movement and freedom in this work. The trees, colour and brushwork became less about recording the landscape exactly as I saw it and more about capturing the feeling of being immersed in it - the movement of the branches, the shifting light and the energy of the place.

Pollok Park has been an important part of my painting journey. It was where I began developing my plein-air practice, and the journey that led to Landscape Artist of the Year 2026 both began and came full circle there.

The original painting was exhibited in In the Middle of Elsewhere, an exhibition held in my Glasgow studio following my appearance on Landscape Artist of the Year 2026.
